There is no alternative to living healthy!Ā  This is because it affects every facets of our life and has multiplier effects on our society. It important to note that living in a good health is far beyond affluence, race, position of occupation, geographical locations and perhaps gender. It is more of psychological concept than physical look.

What is good health? My simple definition of it is having tranquility in your spirit, soul and body. It radiates positivity in you and enhances your perspective on all issues of life. Getting to this state in life is not so simple. Lots of issues need to be contended with; barriers need to be broken and positive attitude as a life-style must be coveted. This doesnā€™t come by mere chance or luck just like Louis Pasteur put it ā€œchance favors only the prepared mindā€. Put in another way, it means that the onus of living the best we dreamt is on us and us only. It absolutely depends on the choice from alternatives we make. Taking responsibility on everything about ourselves is so important because no one will do it for us. I like the way Chris Argyris coined it: ā€œNo one can develop anyone else apart from himself. The door to development is locked from outsideā€. I have also realized that when medical expert prescribes medications to tackle some ailments, the substance only relieved the symptoms of the ailment but the actual healing takes place when the immune system of the body fight against it through our mind that believed based on the medication taken. It then shows that healing obtained commenced from our thoughts. This type of mentality can also be inculcated into our life without been induced. The aftermaths go a long way to helping stay in sound health.

Therefore, how do we get there? We must keep thinking, acting, meditating, speaking, and maintain positive attitude to health. A popular adage which you may be familiar with says that ā€œas a man thinks, so he/she isā€. Moreover, attitude of gratitude for who we are also plays a leading role towards achieving state of good health. Youā€™ve got to love yourself and appreciate who you are. The greatest undoing of some individual persons is being angry with themselves and their situations. It does no good than complicate the situations and eventual lead to state of despair. Ruminating over the following health tips may also help to stay in good shape and be more productive:

  • Maintaining healthy weight
  • Regular moderate exercise
  • Staying mentally sharp

From the foregoing, there is no gain saying that the state of our health is largely dependent on us. A role nobody can play for us. We can only be admonished towards it. I am sure this is the reason why Galileo Galileli said that: ā€œwe cannot teach people anything, we can only help them discover it within themselvesā€. It is on this premise that this write-up is based. Putting some of these simple suggestions into practice will help everyone stay in good health, realize their potential and achieve the personal success that they deserve.
